Eligibility for free Living Well with Autism support

The Living Well with Autism service is available to Derbyshire County residents aged 18 and over who have a confirmed diagnosis of an Autism Spectrum Condition. Services are free for Derbyshire County Local Authority residents.

The service is also available to their families and carers.

If a Derbyshire County resident aged 18 and over does not have a confirmed diagnosis of an Autism Spectrum Condition but is believed to be showing characteristics, they can still access these services if they are referred by a health professional (e.g. GP, educational psychologist, mental health services or even one of our own counsellors).

Referrals can also be received from:
  • Derbyshire Healthcare NHS FT Adult Autism Assessment Service
  • Sheffield Adult Autism and Neurodevelopmental Service (SAANS)
  • Derbyshire County Council Adult Care Social Workers
  • GP’s

If you have a diagnosis of an Autism Spectrum Condition then you can self-refer by contacting us. Otherwise, ask your GP or other known health professional to contact Relate to make a referral on your behalf.

The Living Well with Autism services are also available for residents outside of Derbyshire County – contact us to find out more about our paid services.
